The story of Salvado.
Our practice takes its name from Salvado Road—home to two hospitals and a church that have stood for decades. The word itself carries meaning: salvado suggests both
salvation and salve—comfort and healing. That felt right.
From day one, we wanted to do things differently.
Mental health care shouldn't feel cold or clinical. We created Salvado to feel like somewhere you'd actually want to be—calm, warm, and human.
Step into Salvado and you’ll notice right away: there’s no single waiting room with people watching the clock. Instead, we’ve created multiple spaces—cosy nooks, soft
lighting, comfortable lounges—designed to feel more like someone’s living room than a medical office.
This isn't just aesthetics. It's a belief: people don't open up in places that feel like hospitals.
This is what care
should feel like
At Salvado, you’re not just here to “get help”. You’re here to build skills, gain tools, and take real ownership of your mental health.
- We don’t do passive care. We work with you to:
- Tailor your own treatment plan
- Track your progress in real time
- Strengthen your resilience over time
All our practitioners are fully accredited and deeply experienced, but that’s only part of it. We also show up with humility, collaboration, and a genuine commitment to your wellbeing.

Dr Suzette Finch
ex MBBS, FRANZCP
After a scenic detour through surgical training, I found my true calling in General Practice—where I get to care for the whole person, not just the parts. My clinical passion lies at the intersection of mental, physical, and environmental health. I’m especially interested in how our minds shape our bodies (and vice versa), and how the spaces we live in influences both. Since switching to GP training in 2005, I’ve became the go-to mental health GP in every practice I’ve joined, so joining the Oqea clinic was an easy decision.
I believe mental wellbeing is the core of overall health, and I bring that lens to every consultation—whether we’re talking lifestyle, behaviour, psychology, or medicine. Growing up in the Territory gave me a practical, no-nonsense approach to care. I’m all about real change, not just quick fixes. Sadly time is limited in a consult, but I always make space for intention, connection, and momentum. Outside the clinic, I’m a certified travel medicine nerd, a scuba diver, a movie collector, and a self-confessed “ticket chaser”—which is my code for anything fun, innovative, or beautifully staged. If it lights up the senses, I’m there.

Outside work, Victoria is a contemporary and classical dance student, an experimental cook, and enjoys blending creativity with her clinical approach.
